After a number of years of working in the retail and fashion sector, David decided to follow his passion (horses, education and skills to setup “Hertfordshire Equine Industry Training Services Ltd” in 1999.  The organisation was setup to deliver Apprenticeships in Equine (Horse Care).  In 2000 David merged the organisation with its sister company “Kent Equine Industry Training Services Ltd”, to become simply known as KEITS Ltd (Keeping Excellence in Training Standards) and carried out the role of Finance Director.

In 2003 David led the organisation to be recognised as Centre of Vocational Excellence for Equine.  In 2006 David’s business partner (the Managing Director), retired and David took up the role of Chief Executive.  During this time David has led the organisation from an Ofsted Grade 3 provider to a Grade 2 in, by March 2010 with increased success rates from 33% to 74% whilst increasing learner numbers from 450 to 1000, and diversifying KEITS provision offer.

David recognises to achieve more and improve quality this can only be achieved through working with the wider FE sector, subsequently David led the setup up of the Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Peer Review group, KEITS Ltd as a lead provider for the Skills and Employer Responsive programme and actively encourages a whole organisational approach to collaborative/partnership working and the sharing of best practice.

During his spare time he enjoys riding his horses, walking his dogs, gardening and travelling.
