Sue has a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in Education. She has 30 years experience in the Further Education sector as well as seven years industrial experience at Unilever research. Throughout her career she has had a passion for social justice and an ongoing commitment to Equality and Diversity. Sue worked as an Equal Opportunities trainer for the GLC.
Sue Rimmer is currently the Principal of South Thames College, a large General Further Education College in central London, she has been in the position for the ten years.
She has represented the Further Education sector at a national, regional and local level and is also currently a member of:
• SFA/YPLA National Advisory Group
• The Black Leadership Initiative Advisory Board
• The Women’s Leadership Network Steering Group
• Helena Kennedy Foundation
• LSIS - Learning & Skills Improvement Service
Sue has also been the Chair of the Association of Colleges (AoC) London Region and a London Development Agency (LDA) board observer.
