Innovative LSIS coaching programme aids the drive for excellence
12/09/2011
Ways of using coaching techniques to support improved performance and organisational change are being promoted in a pioneering programme from LSIS.
The Advanced Coaching Programme, which will run in Manchester this autumn, reflects the growing importance of internal coaching services in helping to create a positive and supportive organisational culture and to break down some of the barriers to change.
An accredited programme, it will enable participants to provide a confident, credible, ethical and professional internal coaching service within their organisations. They will gain:
• a deeper understanding of coaching theories and practice;
• a toolkit of approaches to tackle any coaching conversation;
• a step-by-step approach to the coaching relationship; and
• increased capacity to support organisational change.
Coaching is widely seen as helping organisations to address issues such as unproductive divisions between groups of staff, a lack of performance management, poor communication and scatter-gun approaches to initiatives.
Previous participants on the LSIS Advanced Coaching Programme report that it has helped them discover new solutions and perspectives in their professional life.
Modules for the next Manchester cohort will take place on 4 October 2011, 28 November 2011 and 24 January 2012. Additionally, there will be two half-day action learning sets on dates to be agreed.
It is also possible to arrange in-house delivery of this course on dates which meet your organisation’s requirements. Further details are availble on our website.
