Gill Saville

Deputy Principal, North Nottinghamshire College

Gill has nearly 20 years’ experience working in the further education sector following a career in the private sector. Gill’s current role is as deputy principal at North Nottinghamshire College where she is responsible for Quality and Curriculum delivery.  They have implemented Quality Improvement Strategies which have led to a marked improvement in success rates.  These have been achieved by setting out a clear strategy for improvements and following this in a consistent and systematic way.  The college has participated in a peer review network for a number of years and this, plus use of external support from QIA and others has helped the college to improve its performance in support of our learners.

Gill has worked in three general FE colleges and has gained experience in both delivery of curriculum and leading on quality improvements.

Gill is a passionate believer in the FE sector as a strong agent for change for the communities we serve and has personally seen lives positively changed and enriched by the support provided by FE colleges.  The many challenges for the sector continue to stretch us all and she is committed to supporting her college’s response to this agenda.

Having experienced support from QIA and others she believes the careful use of external support can be a very powerful lever for change.  Gill looks forward to contributing to the clear agenda set out by LSIS and ensuring the voice of general FE colleges is heard in the debate.
