Paul Wakeling

Principal, Havering Sixth Form College

Paul Wakeling has been the principal of Havering Sixth Form College since August 2006, and has been working in sixth form colleges since 1993.  Previous roles include: Vice Principal at Coulsdon College, Programme Manager at NewVic and Head of Department at Collyer’s College.

As a senior leader in the further education sector, Paul has been committed to leadership learning.  He completed the Centre for Excellence in Leadership’s Aspiring principals and senior leaders’ programme in 2005 and is now an associate teacher on the programme.  He has recently completed the Principals qualifying programme as part of Cohort 1 and remains involved with the programme.  Paul is committed to embedding leadership development into Havering Sixth Form College and many of the managers are engaged in LSIS programmes.

Paul is also a trustee for Learning Plus UK, which specialises in assisting teachers and education professionals to widen opportunities and raise aspirations for 14-19 year olds.
