Making the most of the QCF: National Conference 2011
This event took place at the Cumberland Hotel in London on Tuesday 13 December. The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is fully operational and public funding is now supporting the delivery of individual units from the QCF to eligible unemployed learners and within the Offender Learning and Skills Service (OLASS ) and the Joint Investment Programme.
Increasingly colleges and training providers are also using the flexibility of the QCF to develop tailored, co or fully funded packages of training for employers and individuals.
The aims of the day were to:
- receive the latest information from the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) on the opportunities for unit based delivery;
- explore issues identified by colleges and training providers who participated in the unit delivery trials;
- learn from emerging practice in QCF delivery from LSIS QCF lead providers;
- find out the latest information about the Personal Learner Record (PLR); develop a better understanding of the opportunities to use the QCF to recognise prior learning; and
- consider how to develop a whole organisation staff development plan to support QCF implementation.
Presentations from the conference workshop and keynotes are available to download.
