The LSIS Council has appointed a panel of five members to review performance - The Performance Review Panel (PRP). The panel meets each quarter and receives summary reports from LSIS staff. These reports rate both the efficiency and effectiveness of each programme. At every meeting the panel carry out a more detailed scrutiny review of key programme areas. The panel also receive reports on the overall efficiency and effectiveness of LSIS and make recommendations as to how LSIS staff should carry out performance management.
The panel produces reports providing their opinion on LSIS performance to BIS (The Department for Business Innovation & Skills), the full council and the Board. A senior civil servant from BIS is also a member of the panel.
In order to evaluate effectiveness and impact we will review programmes at various stages of delivery. This is through a variety of methods, which include independent external review, participant case studies or reflections and Key Performance Indicators. The indicators may include inspection outcomes and learner success rates. The results of these evaluations inform our annual self assessments and future planning.
