Plaque commemorates LSIS voluntary work
Volunteers from Coventry-based Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) refurbished the rundown play area at Stoke Heath Community Centre, Burroughs Close, Liberty Park as part of a community project. In recognition of their work a plaque was presented to the centre’s manager at a ceremony held on Friday 13 April.

Top Scottish Youth Workers announced
The winner of Scottish Youth Work Manager of the Year has been announced. The category, which was sponsored by LSIS, was part of YouthLink Scotland’s National Youth Worker of the Year Awards 2012
Gary Maguire, of Glasgow Life, was named the winner at the awards ceremony that was held on Thursday 15 March. The awards recognise outstanding service, contribution and performance by managers, youth workers, peer educators, teams and individuals working within the youth work sector across Scotland.
Technology conference
More than 100 delegates attended the fourth annual Technology for Success Conference.
Participation and contributions confirmed the continued commitment to adoption and adaptation of technology across the sector.
Organised by LSIS, the conference is a national showcase for innovation and inventive practice in the Further Education and Skills sector, with a clear focus on improving the quality of teaching and learning.
Commissioners needed for new independent panel on adult vocational learning
