Towards Enterprising Futures

For the past year, the Gazelle group of colleges has been working with LSIS to take forward the entrepreneurship agenda in the sector. The most recent activity was a two-day workshop in July at the University of Warwick entitled “Towards Enterprising Futures”.

Delegates attending the workshop had been identified as those who were taking forward the Gazelle entrepreneurial vision. At the workshop, they were encouraged to consider how they could to create a more entrepreneurial college. They considered, debated and reflected on some of the existing thinking around the development of learning companies; the move towards entrepreneurial learning; the need for new technology systems; and the wider student experience opportunities that are evolving because of a more entrepreneurial curriculum.

The two days provided an intense, lively and fruitful experience, and delegates came away with a project proposal for whole organisational change, to enable their colleges to become truly entrepreneurial educators.
Coming up, LSIS will be working with Gazelle on a new workshop called “Entrepreneurship as a strategic driver for change”. This is aimed at senior leaders from any college who would like to explore the opportunities of developing an entrepreneurial culture within their own organisation. The workshop will take place in late 2012. More details will be published soon. For more details contact enquiries@lsis.org.uk
