LSIS Accounts for 2011 and 2012

Since early 2010, the LSIS Accounts scheme has been growing within the further education and skills sector. On the back of this success and a continued demand, LSIS Accounts will be available over the 2011-12 academic year. The main aims of the scheme remain:

  • to encourage continued investment and planning for improvement support;
  • to alleviate some of the resource pressures for maintaining such essential activity; and
  • to help LSIS to gauge sector demand and to create a more responsive offer.

What is an LSIS Account?

An LSIS Account is a way for LSIS to offer eligible providers an immediate subsidy mechanism, helping them offset the contribution costs applied to many of LSIS's events and services.

Who is eligible for an LSIS Account?

All further education and skills providers that are contracted to deliver training that is funded by the Skills Funding Agency from 1 September 2011 are eligible for an LSIS Account.

Automatic allocations of LSIS Account credit from 1 September 2011

If your organisation had an activated LSIS Account in the previous round between April – July 2011 and continues to deliver Agency funded post-19 provision from September 2011, your organisation will automatically be given an allocation of credit and your LSIS Account holder informed. There is no need for these providers to apply.

If your organisation didn’t have an LSIS Account in the previous round between April – July 2011 but will be delivering Agency funded provision from September 2011 onwards, LSIS invites you to apply for an Account. If successful, your organization will be informed of its allocation of credit via the designated LSIS Account holder. Please see the section below for more guidance on applying.

Those organisations that do not meet the eligibility criteria for the next academic year will not be automatically granted an allocation from September 2011.

LSIS reserves discretionary rights over the allocation of any Account credit. For further information on eligibility criteria, please see our frequently asked questions page.
